More than a century of tradition, innovation, and excellence
José Martín Carrellán opens a winery, beginning a legacy of dedication to wine and traditional craftsmanship that would guide future generations.

1917
The family opens a cooperage to complement and expand the winery's activity, uniting both crafts and opening a new chapter in the business.

1960
The third generation drives the company's international expansion, starting commercial relationships with whisky distilleries in Scotland. These collaborations grew quickly thanks to product quality, mutual trust and respect for the craft.

1990
The winery is expanded with the construction of new buildings and the integration of sawmills, reinforcing wood supply, seasoning capacity and production.

2014
The acquisition of a sawmill in Asturias reinforces the supply of European wood and enables full traceability over its origin. It also facilitates the selection of higher-quality wood and optimises the selection, cutting and drying of the oak.

2018
The company begins a process of restructuring and modernisation based on investment in innovation. This optimises production processes, improves efficiency and adapts to the new demands of the sector.

2020
After years of research and collaboration with foreign companies, several custom-designed machines equipped with high-precision scanners are developed and incorporated, both in our cooperage and in our sawmill. This technology guarantees a perfect fit in stave cutting, hermetic seals and optimal geometry, improving wood-use efficiency and minimising alcohol loss during the maturation of spirits.

2025-2026
With over a century of heritage and a commitment to continuous innovation, J&MM stands ready to meet the evolving needs of the global spirits industry. We remain dedicated to producing the finest barrels, one craft barrel at a time.
